So I wrote 17,866 words on Assassin 2 this weekend. I was able to salvage some stuff (mainly description) from my first rough draft so they weren’t all original words.
But still, I got a lot done. I’m up to about 70,000 craptastic words, and I can see the glimmer of the end.
Right now though, IÂ seriously need some ice for my wrist … 😮
So I’m working on Assassin 2, while I wait to see what my agent thinks about my latest round of revisions on the first Assassin book. I had about 85,000 words on Assassin 2. But given the extensive revisions I did on the first Assassin book, I basically had to go in and throw almost everything away that I’d done on the second book.
Sigh.
I know both books are 100 percent better for the revisions, but still, losing that many words is painful. I’m making steady progress on the new, improved version of Assassin 2, though. I’m up to about 50,000 words right now. Of course, this is my first rough draft, so these are all pretty much craptastic words. But still, some progress has been made.
I’m hoping to write another 10,000 words this weekend. We’ll see how that goes — and how much my wrist hurts afterwards.
What about you guys? Anyone got big plans this weekend?
I’m not the only author thinking about James Bond these days. HelenKay Dimon has posted info on the new Bond novel, Devil May Care, and a link to where you can read an excerpt. Check it out!Â
So the blog is still in the different format from the rest of my Web site. And I wanted to ask folks what they thought about it before I attempt to fix it.
Do you guys prefer this blog format? Or do you like the old version where it matches the rest of the Web site and has links back to the other parts of the site? Which one is easier to read?
