Today is the official release day of the third Bigtime book about fashion designer Bella Bulluci, whose luck superpower drives her crazy more often than not.

Bella Bulluci’s big passion is the arts. Her big pain is being born into a family of superheroes. Of course, Bella might feel differently if her own superpower was one she could control – or at least get some use out of. Instead, her power is one of capricious luck – supercharged telekinesis. In other words, static electricity. Bella knows that’s not a power – just a jinx.

During a gala fundraiser for the local art museum, Bella comes upon two things no Bigtime supergirl should be without: an ubervillain of her very own who plans to steal a priceless gem; and a dashing – if slightly shady – stranger named Debonair. He may have a reputation as a notorious playboy, but the real sparks are going to come from Bella, who’s finally going to learn just how well love and danger can go together …

    My luck generally stinks, but there was one time that my car broke down and it was going to cost me $600. The very next day I got a refund in the mail for my student loan because I had paid too much.

    It was for $600. My car came to $596.00.

    😆 My luck is soso. However, whenever I’m short on money and need to pay a bill, I always seem to find the money. I guess in that sense I’m pretty lucky.

    I totally believe in luck. Of course in my life it seems that it comes in spurts, either a whole lot of things are going right, or wrong at one time. I think I have been luckier in my near-misses than in things I have recieved. Things such as narrowly missing an accident on the highway, or dodging a dating bullet. :green: Of course I believe you make your own luck too! Love the stories!

    Post #2 sums up my luck. The bills always manage to get paid, somehow. To be honest though, I can’t really consider it luck, I don’t believe in “luck”, more skill, dedication, coincidence, etc. In short, I don’t believe in any magical force, in the sky or otherwise. 😛

    I believe luck happens. But some of my events would be considered both luck and unluck. Like when I went to my doctor Friday and she sent me for a sonogram, to surgeon,and straight to surgery for gallbladder sugery. Now you could look at this as luck because things moved quickly after years of suffering and getting nowhere. Or you could look at it as unlucky because I never got to my daughter’s, Walmarts, haircut, etc.

    I have horrible luck. Usually, I totally live by Murphy’s law. I get locked in buildings, drive through wet cement, have things fall on my head. But that isn’t a bad thing since when some good luck does come my way, it is even more special.

    Some of my siblings seem to have the best luck, others seem to have the worst. I’m somewhere in the middle, which is ironic because I’m the middle child. I’m not so sure if it is really luck that lends itself to them, good or bad, but the opportunities they open themselves up to – or close themselves off from. Very interesting question, though.

    My luck seems to center around parking spaces. My family says I have incredible “parking karma”. Whatever it is, I can pull down a front aisle at the mall during Christmas rush and someone will back out so I can have their spot. :mmachine:

    Well… I have consistent small luck. I totally believe in the grand Luck one hears about in stories but I haven’t experienced it yet…. one day the stars will be in alignment and I will have my Big Lucky moment.

    I am leaving a comment because I definitely believe in luck and hoping mine will be good in your wonderful contest and, sadly, because I do not have a website or blog.

    I was watching television one time when they had a program on all this money states are holding waiting for people to claim and my husband, laughingly, said I should check for my name…and there it was listed in my home state. I called and had papers sent to validate my claim and thirty days later the state sent my a nice check …what good luck that we happened to be watching that particular TV program.

I’m clumsy…I have days when I’ll completely forget something…my car will stop running….i’ll get pulled over when im late for work….my alarm clock will unplug itself (i swear its alive)…UGH…I can’t even choose one….but I CAN say that I manage to get really lucky on occasion…so I guess you could say i believe that luck can bite you in the ass in a good way…sometimes

    I do believe in luck… I just don’t believe I have it. Instead I have hard work, stubbornness, and a borderline arrogant certainty that I’ll get what I deserve (which, yes, cuts two ways). Luck is definitely more glamorous. Do you think you can catch luck?

    I believe in luck. Most of the time, I don’t have any, but once I did. I went to the little Indian Casino around the corner from my house. I was betting 40 cents a spin, just there to chat with a friend more that anything else. I hit the jackpot for $2400. It would have been more if I was betting more, but I couldn’t because my pay had been cut by 20% the month before.

    The next month, they decided it wasn’t legal to cut my pay the way they did and my salary was returned to normal, but the 2400 more than made up for difference until that happened.

    My luck? Itsnot so good. My hubby’s luck is so awesome we actually have named it the “Larry Luck” phenomenom. Whenever things look their worst and there is a sudden windfall to save the day, that’s Larry Luck.

    I have to confess that it sometimes pisses me off. Just when I think he might acually have to deal with things like the rest of us, along comes an unexpected check, new business opportunity or freakish turn of events.

    So, I guess my lucky event would be meeting and marrying this luck magnet. lol

    A couple of months ago I came across a mailing list for one of my favorite bands and signed up. I usually don’t register for newsletters because I get too much email already, but their website specifically said it was low-volume.

    My first mailing came thirty minutes later, and it said that they were making a small number of advance tickets for upcoming shows available only to newsletter subscribers. I got third row seats, right in the center.

    That felt pretty lucky.

    My luck happened last week when I was in the library and came across your first book sticking off the shelf. I went to push it back but it grabbed my attention and now I am on book #2 of yours and looking forward to your new one!

    I have found the occasional $20 drifting in the parking lot or really great deals on the clearance aisle at the local stores! for instance my hardwood floor that is now in my living room was 50% off! 🙂

    unlucky days would be like this morning when I spilt my 1/2 gallon of ice tea in the passenger side of the van. Then relaized I had forgotten to take my blood pressure medication this morning. I was close to bursting into flames like Fiera!!

    I’d have to say I generally have good luck with online contests. Over the past few years I have won a gift basket, truffle making kit, purse and quite a few books.

    Let’s just say that if I had a superpower, mine would be Bella’s. I have a semi-charmed life where sometimes I get very lucky and sometimes I really, really don’t. I can’t think of any specific really good examples, though.

    Luck is different for me. It can come in spurts, like my hubby will say that each time I rode in the car with him last week, we got a great parking space, LOL. Especially good in this heat! So its like I have these little kinds of luck that may not mean alot but they are fun when we tell each other about them. So I think Luck can come big or small, but they both worth it.

    :woodstock: I definitely believe in luck! 🙂 I went to Italy with some friends when I was 18. We were having a long day because we lost our tour group. In addition, I was dying in pants because it was over 100 degrees, while all my friends were cooler in shorts. I was miserable and regretting my clothing choices– I had no idea why I had decided to put pants on! Eventually, we got to St. Peter’s Basilica, in Vatican City where our tour group was supposed to be. When we got to the door of the Basilica, all my friends got turned away because no shorts were allowed in the church. I, however hot I was, was allowed in the basilica. It was truly one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen and I would have missed it if I hadn’t suffered being hot all day long. My friends still haven’t seen all the beautiful and famous things inside… I’m sure they will one day though!

    Interesting topic. My daughter and I were just talking about luck today. Mine is just average–I seem to win and lose in equal amounts–but my daughter was definitely born under a lucky star. She plays sports. Now a senior in high school, she’s decided to concentrate on softball after also playing soccer and basketball. For years, we’ve noticed that although, she’s only an average athlete, whenever her coaches put her out to play, immediately her team would start doing better–even if the ball didn’t come her way. People outside our family have also noticed this phenomenon. (It doesn’t mean her team always wins the game; just that they are tougher to beat than expected.)

    In math class, the teacher had a can of popsicle sticks. Each morning a student would draw one out to see if the homework had to be handed in. Every time my daughter was chosen to pull out the stick, the homework didn’t have to be turned in. Eventually the teacher forbade her from having any more chances to pull out the stick–much to the class’s dismay.

    When local stores have drawings, she will either win the grand prize or a least a one of the nice ones (including tickets to Phantom of the Opera.)

    She has gone to parties where games of chance are played, such as Bingo, and she wins. In fact, when I went to pick her up from one, the father of the birthday girl asked if he could take my daughter to Las Vegas. I think he was joking?

    I have many more stories about my daughter and luck. And no, we’ve never bought a lottery ticket.

    my luckiest experience was getting to meet my hero, Paul Dempsey and have him treat me like an old friend. (https://www.somethingforkate.com) he is in a band whose music has saved my life… and he’s just the most down to earth and kind individual ever. the fact that he gave a normal someone like me the time of day several times was the luckiest thing ever, ever, ever. 😀

    my second luckiest experience was the day i got my drivers license… i was 25 years old. i was terrified of driving but my mum said i needed to get it in case of an emergency. so i took lessons and was so nervous i nearly blew two left hand turns on reds. which would have been automatic fails. but i passed with only three points off. my mum said she knew i would pass because the check we wrote out to pay for the license was number 1979, the year i was born. go figure. 😀

    I believe that my luck runs along the unlucky side. The month of August was an incredibly yucky month for me and I am only hoping that my luck turns around here very soon.
