Revised … for now …
So I’ve finally finished the revisions on Elemental Assassin #4 and shipped those off to my editor. If she likes them, the book will move on to the copy editor. I’m just glad that it’s off my desk — for now anyway!
Still, no title or firm release date for book 4 (or for book 5 either), but those should be coming soon. I’ll post those here on the blog as soon as I get them.
Dear Ms. Estep,
Love, love, love the Elemental books. Great characters. Great writing. Compelling plots. Exciting. My family it totally annoyed that there is no dinner because I need to know how Gin gets out of the mine.
I would like to mention one little distraction – your treatment of kudzu. If you didn’t claim to be southern, I’d say you’ve never seen any or had any experience with kudzu. For example, you have a college building growing over with kudzu. This is distracting because no one who knows anything about kudzu would ever allow it to overtake a building. No self-respecting gardener would allow kudzu to get a foothold in any space he was responsible for tending.
If you meant ivy growing on the building, just say ivy. It grows here. It even grows on buildings and looks quite charming.
However, I doubt Gin could have climbed ivy vines out of a cave, but kudzu? Completely believable. I once slid off the side of a mountain in the pouring rain and was saved from crashing to serious injury or death by a giant wad of kudzu growing between some trees. Tow-truck guy said I was, “Real lucky,” as he hauled my car back to the road.
Anyway, kudzu… doesn’t grow on buildings unless they’re abandoned… noxious weed… grows a foot a day… still pretty… great flowers.
Can’t wait for the next book.

Hi, Jennice! Hope you are doing well. Thanks for commenting and telling me how much you’re enjoying the Elemental Assassin series. I appreciate that. 😉
I’m going to have to respectfully disagree with you about the kudzu, though. I am a Southerner, and I have seen it growing on all kinds of things — telephone poles, rocks, fields, and buildings that were not abandoned. I’ve actually heard some people say that they like the way that it looks. Plus, you have to remember, this is a fantasy book and the college is close to the rough part of town. The officials are more concerned about students being murdered and cleaning up blood on the quads than kudzu growing on the buildings. LOL.
