Checking out the summer TBR pile …
So it’s June, which means that it’s time to think about summer books and what you want to read on vacation.
I know I say this every single year, but this is going to be the summer when I put a serious dent in my TBR pile. We’ll see if it actually happens or not. LOL.
But in the meantime, here are some of the books in my TBR pile that I’m looking forward to reading this summer. Note that the descriptions are from Goodreads.

just finished Midnight Crossroad by Charlaine Harris. I really enjoyed it – it is full of interesting, quirky characters and the story has a twist to it.
That book looks interesting. I’ve been meaning to add that one to my TBR pile.
I’ve had Hell on Wheels by Julie Ann Walker on my Nook for a while. I’m going to do my best to work in sometime this year.
This summer I’m working on my Netgalley pile and audiobooks I’ve received for review.
I’ve been on a contemporary romance reading/listening kick so I’ve found some new to me authors I’ll be reading this summer like Jill Shalvis, Julie James and Lorelei James.
Then of course there’s Stomp vs Romp coming up so July I’ll be reading some Paranormal romances for that event.
I finished reading Hell on Wheels. I enjoyed it and am looking forward to reading the rest of the series. And Julie is so nice/funny to talk to in person.
I picked up Julie James’s new book at RT. That one is waiting for me too.
Too many books, too little time …
That’s why I love it that I can listen to audios while I work. Or I wouldn’t get anything read. LOL
I need to try more audiobooks … after I whittle down my print TBR pile. LOL. One format at a time.
I started two weeks of jury duty yesterday and found it a great way to work on the TBR pile! I started and finished Blood Games today (Chloe Neill). Yesterday I read about some girl assasin named Gin…….another great story!! Have you considered publishing a cookbook?
I too hope to make a dent in the TBR. However, the top of the new releases (that I haven’t already read for reviews like one about a certain female assassin…) is MAGIC BREAKS by Ilona Andrews. So I’m actually in the process of “re-reading” the series via audiobooks.
As for books on my Kindle… I’m reading the Hell or Highwater Series by SE Jakes, Wrecked by Shiloh Walker, Inhale by Kendall Grey and Kiss of a Demon King by Kresley Cole. Or… maybe I’ll pick up something new. LOL!
LOL. Well, I hope you enjoyed that female assassin book.
I also have the 2nd book in several trilogies that I need to read before the last book comes out this summer.
I see you are reading the Immortals After Dark series. I like that one a lot.
Just finished Magic Breaks – one of my favorites in the series! And I am reading the latest Chloe Neill – Blood Games right now.
I need to get caught up on the Chicagoland Vampires series. And about a dozen other series. LOL.
Maggie — No, there are no plans to do a Gin cookbook. Many of the recipes exist only in my imagination or are just things that I think sound good to eat.
