Resolution time …
Happy New Year! :bub:
Hope you’re having a good one so far. So, it’s time to write those pesky yearly resolutions. I thought I’d share some of my writing goals for 2008 with everyone:
1) Write the second SPY book (my James Bond-esque series with magic).
2) Write the second ASSASSIN book (my series about a Southern assassin who can control certain elements).
3) Write something different. I want to try something new this year, and I’m kicking around a couple of ideas. I’m just not sure exactly what genre I want to write yet. I always have paranormal ideas, but I’m thinking about branching out and trying my hand at romantic suspense (I write pretty darn good action scenes). Maybe a romantic comedy or even a funny young adult. What would you guys like to see me write next?
4) Sell my two new urban fantasy series. LIVE & LET SPY is my James Bond series, and GIN ON THE ROCKS is my assassin story. Of course, there’s not a lot I can do about this resolution, other than write the best books I can. (Which I hope I’ve done). But sales depend on so many things — agents, editors, the marketplace, etc. But hey, a gal can dream, right? 😉
5) Work on the world of Bigtime. Enough said.
What about you? What are your goals, writing or otherwise?
Happy New Year, Jennifer! This year, I hope to finish the two novels that I am polishing and start a third. I’d also love to lose 20 pounds.
Happy New Year, Tia! Hope you’re having a great one so far.
Good luck with your books. Sometimes, polishing can be the toughest part, especially depending how much you agonize over things.
I think weight loss is on everybody’s list — including mine. 😕
Hello Jennifer,
Happy 2008 YaY! Good luck with every thing 🙂
I did start on two of my New Year’s resolutions and it’s going great now 🙂 I am staying away from the junk food that has so much sugar in it and I use to be a smoker not drugs though LoL I quited about 2 wks ago YaY me 🙂 I would also love to lose weight and be able to get back into a size 5 or 6 jeans *G* or even a size 10 would be fine with me.
I also plan to read more this year. I want to try & make a dent in my TBR pile but not sure how that will work because I keep buying & adding books to my list LoL. Hey what can I say I am a book-a-holic and proud of it 🙂
Hugssss

Happy New Year!
Unfortunately, I don’t have any resolutions this year. I tend not to stick with them. I am of the mindframe that if there is really something I want to change, I’ll do my best to change it, without or without a specific date to urge me on.
Linda — Thanks! Being a bookaholic is nothing to be ashamed of. There are worse things you could be addicted to. I know what you mean about the sugar. One of my resolutions is to eat better this year — which means cutting down on the junk and fast food. We’ll see how it goes, though. I have weaknesses for cheese and chocolate and ice cream … 🙄
Chasity — That’s a pretty cool attitude to have. In addition to my resolutions, I try to do small things throughout the year to help me, especially with things like eating better.
I have an interview with Jenna Black and a giveaway from her of a signed copy of The Devil Inside over at my blog! She is answering questions about her book. Come over and comment people!
