Titles, titles everywhere …
Well, it looks like we’ve narrowed it down to three potential titles for Elemental Assassin #5 — Spider’s Revenge, Black Widow, and Widow’s Web.
Which one do you guys like best? I think they’re all pretty good myself …

Oh, those sound good. Hmm… Black Widow I think is my fave.
OoO, I wonder how the “Widow” fits in…..
I like them all too 🙂
I vote Black Widow. Spider’s Revenge is too close to Spider’s Bite and Web was already used for Web of Lies. Repeating like that is fine if all titles (or even most titles) in the series do it, but otherwise, it gets confusing to my poor little brain.
All that aside, Black Widow is still my favorite.
Glad you guys like the titles. It’s been tough trying to pick between them.
I know what you’re saying. If the titles repeat too much it’s hard to remember which books you have or haven’t read in a series …
I like them all too! I am torn between Black Widow and Widow’s Web. I know that web has been used in a title before but I love alliteration!
Initially thought Black Widow, for the same reasons as everybody else. But I also like the Revenge idea. So perhaps Widow’s Revenge. 🙂
I like Black Widow. Also for the same reason as Jenn stated above.
Black Widow sounds a little too much of a cliche for me. Spider’s Revenge sounds like it could have been a title of the old pulp hero called The Spider . . . and from what we already know will happen in #5, it seems to be the title that fits the best.
Widow’s Web isn’t bad, but let me toss out one off-the-wall suggestion. How about WEB OF REVENGE?
Thanks for the comments, everyone. I think Black Widow might be a little too generic, though — there are lots of books out there with that title … And the word “widow” makes me think of an actual widow, not a black widow spider. I think I’m leaning toward Spider’s Revenge. It’s probably too soon to do another Web of title since we just did that for Web of Lies last year.
While it makes me think of spider man a little, I like Spider’s revenge. I am not crazy about the widow ones, it sounds too simple.
I would definitely vote “Black Widow”. It sounds sexy and dangerous 😉 Spider’s Revenge is alright. Widow’s Web is not.
I like them all. Why not just write all three? I promise to buy each and every one.
I say Spider’s Revenge. I read somewhere that revenge is personal and justice is societal so taking down Mab and her cronies could be either or. Just a thought… how about this title, Spider’s Silken Skein and Super Sexy Owen. he he
Whatever title you choose is fine by me as long as I get the book. :o)
I like Black Widow
Thanks for chiming in, everyone. I think we’re going to have the title nailed down by next week so stay tuned. 😉
I posted this on Good reads too, but just in case you don’t read that site as often… here’s what I wrote
“Of the three I’d go with Black Widow because the other books do have “spider” or “web” in them already. Yet, like you said, it’s a bit generic. Perhaps you could find a different way of describing a black widow…Like Widow of the Hourglass or something. Or combine two of your titles, Black Widow’s Revenge?”
I always thought naming books is the hardest thing to do. You have to pretty much narrow approx 100,000 words into just 2-5 words. It’s craziness! Good luck on your choice!
Yep, I saw your comment and answered it over at Goodreads.
