Touch of Frost bookmarks …

I’ve finally gotten bookmarks made for Touch of Frost, the first book in my Mythos Academy young adult urban fantasy series that’s coming out on July 26. Huzzah! Here’s a look at the front of the bookmark. Pretty cool, huh? 😉

As always, the bookmarks are free to readers, librarians, bookstores, or whoever wants one. However, I do ask that folks send me a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE) with two first-class U.S. stamps on it in order to get the bookmarks. This helps me out with postage costs. My name is Gwen Frost, and I go to Mythos Acad­emy — a school of myths, magic and war­rior whiz kids, where even the lowli­est geek knows how to chop off somebody’s head with a sword and Logan Quinn, the hottest Spar­tan guy in school, also hap­pens to be the deadliest.

But lately, things have been weird, even for Mythos. First, mean girl Jas­mine Ash­ton was mur­dered in the Library of Antiq­ui­ties. Then, some­one stole the Bowl of Tears, a mag­i­cal arti­fact that can be used to bring about the sec­ond Chaos War. You know, death, destruc­tion and lots of other bad, bad things. Freaky stuff like this goes on all the time at Mythos, but I’m deter­mined to find out who killed Jas­mine and why — espe­cially since I should have been the one who died …

Touch of Frost will be out on July 26. First Frost, a prequel e-story to the series, will also be out in July as a download, although I don’t have the exact release date on that one yet. I’ll keep you posted.

    There’s such a selection of YA books nowadays. Your Mythos Academy series looks like it’ll be very exciting to read. As a young adult, I depended on Stephan King for paranormal reading. We didn’t have authors like J.K. Rowling or Stephanie Meyers at that time.

    A friend just formed a book club and the first selection is Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. Once HG is read, maybe I’ll try other YA books.

      Growing up, I read books by folks like Judy Blume and Beverly Cleary — I can’t even tell you how many times I read the Ramona books …

      The Hunger Games is an *awesome* book. I really liked it a lot. I need to finish the rest of the trilogy …

        I loved the Hunger games as well, but the ending was a little of a downer for me…I’d like to hear your opinion when you get to the end of the trilogy too. (A lot of people think I’m nuts that I didn’t love the ending…so it’s probably just me.)

          So far, I’ve managed to avoid any spoilers for Catching Fire and Mockingjay, but it seems like a lot of folks didn’t like the ending. Maybe I’ll manage to get to read the books this summer …

          One of my goals is to clean out my TBR over the next few months. We’ll see how that goes. LOL.

    Ah! Judy Blume. In 4th grade, Ms. Pataksil read Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing to my class. That’s when I fell in love with reading.

      I don’t remember the title but one of my fav Blume books was about these three best friends. The main character’s parents get a divorce, and she and one of her friends stop being friends. I think it’s Just as Long as We’re Together, but it’s been so long since I read it that I don’t remember for sure …
